DJ Rory Quigley

Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Rory has loved and lived by music since he can remember. Growing up, he was absorbed in his father’s record collection, which later became the sounds tracks for his childhood memories. In high school Rory joined the orchestra as a violinist and sang in the school choir. During this time, he listened to and collected music ranging from heavy metal to rap, rock and punk.

It was in Rory’s young adult life that he would hear the music that would shape his life: “House music is an amazing thing” says Rory. “I can remember dancing with friends into the next day and then doing it all again the next night”. When Rory was 19 he invested in his first turntable and computer DJ setup. Playing in various house parties and a few clubs in New Zealand, Rory fell in love with playing in front of a crowd. “I love it when I drop a record, and the crowd just explodes. I think that’s what drives me do what I do and follow my passion.”

Late 2006, Rory moved to Vancouver and progressed steadily in the Underground house music community. His repertoire includes playing at the Red Room’s Believe Event on New Year’s Eve of 2007, Crush Champagne Lounge, Canvas Lounge, Gorg-O-Mish, Lotus, The Bunker, Cyber Night Club, Jupiter Lounge and at various private parties around Vancouver.

Returning to Auckland, New Zealand in late 2008, he hasnt slowed down… Playing at some of the best clubs in Auckland, Aisha, Code, Flight Lounge, The Carpark Bar, Forte, Wave Bar, Honey, The Ferguson, Hamilton’s Loft and Sekure, as a guest on 107.5 UPFM’s “The Show With No Name”, ”6 Beats Under” and on 107.7 Twisted FM for the “Beat Berry Jam Show”.

Rory stays busy playing a mixture of Deep and Rolling Underground House for his fans and supporters while promoting productions and events under Ninja’s Of House and Beat Berry Jam.
